Humans Unleashed

Signs, poles and trees
all make me go ‘sheesh;’
those things can cause problems
when humans are leashed.

We go on a walk;
I’m ahead; they’re in back
but basic leash management’s
something they lack.

You’d think it was simple.
and I sure have tried,
but when there’s a post
they will pick the wrong side.

So I have to fix it
and come back around
to untangle their leash.
That’s what I have found.

You’d think that unleashing
them might be more fair,
but nope; without leashes
they’d go anywhere.

Got better ideas?
I will give them a try.
Til then I’ll just backtrack
and heave a big sigh
.

About Me

I’m Pete Harbeson, a writer (among other things) located near Boston, Massachusetts. In addition to writing my own content, I’ve learned to translate for my loquacious and opinionated pup Chocolate Bossypaws. No surprise, she mostly speaks in doggerel. You can find her contributions tagged with Chocolatiana.

Check out my other blog, Techlimitics, where I’m grappling with the nature of simplicity. You can also find some of my minor software projects at GitHub. Nothing very impressive. I mostly write tiny utilities in Python.

I find myself suddenly de-corporatized (their choice, not mine). To help keep the lights on, buy me a coffee!
