Simplicity rearranged

unmonetizable content since 1997

Never before…

As everybody knows, just in the past few years the proliferation of new media means that more and more people are doomed to be “unable to learn anything, to know anything well and to concentrate their minds upon anything.” It’s brain rot, that’s what it is, and it’s something that has never happened before.

No, wait, that quote, and the term “brain rot,” are from 1899. It was printed magazines that were the culprit in those days. Whatever’s new seems to be scary, and terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad effects are sure to follow.

But seriously, subscribe to The Pessimist’s Archive; it’s excellent!

About Me

I’m Pete Harbeson, a writer (among other things) located near Boston, Massachusetts. In addition to writing my own content, I’ve learned to translate for my loquacious and opinionated pup Chocolate Bossypaws. No surprise, she mostly speaks in doggerel. You can find her contributions tagged with Chocolatiana.

Check out my other blog, Techlimitics, where I’m grappling with the nature of simplicity. You can also find some of my minor software projects at GitHub. Nothing very impressive. I mostly write tiny utilities in Python.

I find myself suddenly de-corporatized (their choice, not mine). To help keep the lights on, buy me a coffee!
