Simplicity rearranged

unmonetizable content since 1997

Poor dears

I feel sorry for humans;
they really can’t smell
with their noses
so far from the ground.

And that means they never
know what’s going on
or which dogs and cats
came around.

I could tell them,
I guess
when the most recent squirrel
was trespassing right in my yard
,

But it’s such a big bother
teaching them how to speak.
Even listening, for them
is quite hard.

They don’t seem to care
about stuff they don’t know;
I guess nothing but fluff’s
in their head.
..

Sometimes I whisper
in their ears late at night
but they seem to forget
what I said.

About Me

I’m Pete Harbeson, a writer (among other things) located near Boston, Massachusetts. In addition to writing my own content, I’ve learned to translate for my loquacious and opinionated pup Chocolate Bossypaws. No surprise, she mostly speaks in doggerel. You can find her contributions tagged with Chocolatiana.

Check out my other blog, Techlimitics, where I’m grappling with the nature of simplicity. You can also find some of my minor software projects at GitHub. Nothing very impressive. I mostly write tiny utilities in Python.

I find myself suddenly de-corporatized (their choice, not mine). To help keep the lights on, buy me a coffee!
