Paul Krugman’s latest piece is about New York City. He spent some time there this week, and among personal observations, points out that:
“New York is looking pretty good right now. Housing is still unaffordable; the failure to build enough housing, not an imaginary crime wave, is the city’s biggest problem. But dire predictions during the pandemic that New York would never recover have been proved completely wrong.“
The orange baby, of course, seems to harbor great animus toward its former home, and hates the congestion fee that’s turning out to be a great idea. Also crime is enormously down, which is the complete opposite of the orange claims.
The orange baby, though, got its start building housing. Or at least its father did. Since that’s now seen as “the city’s biggest problem,” I wonder if there’s some shred of recognition about who or what might have greatly contributed to that in the orange cranium? Nah, probably not. I don’t think it has that level of self-awareness.
